Meet Mr. ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐. ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ, ๐๐, ๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐, a highly experienced nurse and educator based in Rosedale, Maryland. A graduate of the MCU College of Nursing, Batch 1991, Mr. Arnel began his nursing career at the Philippine General Hospital, specializing in trauma care. In 1994, he moved to the United States, joining Hendricks Medical Center in Texas, where he completed a nursing training program and began working in long-term care after passing the NCLEX.
In 1998, Mr. Arnel joined Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, where he gained valuable experience in post-operative care for cardio-thoracic surgeries, enhancing his critical thinking and nursing skills. By 2003, he transitioned to the Veterans Affairs Maryland Health Care System, where he provided cardiac care and assumed leadership roles, receiving the “๐๐ก๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐งโ๐ฌ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐” for his nursing excellence. After earning a Master of Science in Nursing in 2014, Mr. Arnel became the first Case Manager at the VA Maryland Sleep Clinic, where he significantly contributed to managing sleep disorder cases and implementing telehealth services, leading to his promotion to Nurse 3.
Beyond his clinical work, Mr. Arnel is an active member of the Philippine Nursing Association, Maryland Chapter, where he has received multiple awards, including the Daisy Team Award for Nurses Advancing Health Equity in 2022 and the Presidential Award in December 2023 for his outstanding service as Director of the Membership Committee.
