Ms. Aileen Toh Gonzales , a distinguished graduate of MCU’s Bachelor of Science in Biology Program, Class of 2022.
Currently, Ms. Aileen serves as a Science Research Analyst(Project Technical Assistant II) at the Virology DOST Cpd. in Taguig City, contributing to the Isolation and Purification of Philippine Common Viruses with Medical Importance and Pandemic Potential for Antigen-Antibody Studies.
Ms. Aileen’s academic excellence is highlighted by numerous awards, including the Best Research and Best Research Presenter for her study on the antibacterial properties of Allium sativum extracts, a Special Citation Award at the 29th Philippine Biodiversity Symposium, and 1st Runner-Up in the Science Investigatory Project Exhibit Contest. She has also been recognized as a Richard Fain Scholar, and a consistent Filemon D. Tanchoco Scholar.
Her research contributions are extensive, with notable publications on topics ranging from the optimization of Chicken Immunoglobulin Y (IgY)-Based Single-chain Variable Fragment (scFv) Assembly to the antibacterial properties of Allium sativum and the antifungal properties of Aloe vera.
