Manila Central University proudly features Dr. Krishia E. Ferrer, a Centralino whose journey from physical therapy to medicine and public health reflects resilience, excellence, and compassion in service.

Strong Academic Foundations

Dr. Ferrer began her academic path at Manila Central University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2013, earning recognition as a Most Proficient Intern and consistently excelling as a Dean’s Lister. Motivated by her desire to serve, she pursued her Doctor of Medicine at MCU College of Medicine, completing the program in 2018. Her dedication to continuous learning later led her to the University of the Philippines–Manila, where she earned her Master’s in Public Health in 2023.

Professional Journey

Her medical training began at MCU Hospital as a Junior Intern (2017–2018) and later as a Post-Graduate Intern (2018–2019), where she was awarded Most Proficient Neurology Intern.

In 2020, Dr. Ferrer answered the call of service as a Rural Health Physician under the Department of Health’s Doctors to the Barrios Program in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte. For three years, she provided consultations, supervised COVID-19 treatment facilities, conducted swabbing, and led information campaigns in tribal and geographically isolated communities. She also coordinated with schools and agencies for vaccination programs, safe class resumption, and health initiatives during the pandemic.

Beyond community service, she has held diverse roles:

  • University Physician, De La Salle Araneta University (2023)
  • Teleconsult Physician, KonsultaMD (2023–present)
  • Resident Physician, Caloocan City Medical Center – Department of Family and Community Medicine (2024–present)

Skills and Certifications

Dr. Ferrer is a licensed physician (since 2019) and licensed physical therapist (since 2013). She is certified in Basic Life Support and trained in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Remote Psychological First Aid, and COVID-19 swabbing procedures. Her unique blend of clinical and administrative expertise enables her to manage patient care, design health guidelines, and implement public health programs effectively.
