Centralino Spotlight: Dr. Mikaela “Mikee” Pascual-Villones

Manila Central University proudly celebrates the inspiring story of Dr. Mikaela Pascual-Villones, fondly known as Mikee. At just 29 years old, she has already worn many hats—wife, mother, pharmacist, doctor, and community leader—while embodying the values of excellence and service that define a true Centralino.

A Solid Centralino Foundation

Dr. Villones began her academic journey at the MCU College of Pharmacy, where she graduated in 2014. Her hard work and dedication were recognized with the Best Research Award, which she earned alongside her groupmates. Soon after, she passed the Pharmacy Licensure Examination (PhLE) in the same year, officially becoming a Centralinong Pharmaceutico.

From Pharmacy to Medicine

After gaining experience as a hospital pharmacist, she pursued a deeper calling in medicine. She successfully passed the NMAT and enrolled at the Far Eastern University – Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF), where she completed her Doctor of Medicine degree from 2015 to 2019. She continued her training as a post-graduate intern at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (2019–2020), and in November 2020, she proudly passed the Physician Licensure Examination (PLE), officially becoming a licensed medical practitioner.

Dedicated Service in the Community

Currently, Dr. Villones serves as a medical officer in her province. In this role, she:

  • Evaluates, manages, and refers medical cases
  • Provides acute emergency care in the ER
  • Supervises nurses and para-medical staff in delivering quality healthcare
  • Leads as head of the grievance committee, handling and resolving conflicts among patients and hospital staff

Her work reflects not just clinical expertise but also compassionate leadership and integrity.

Beyond the Hospital

True to her Centralino roots of innovation and service, Dr. Villones also co-owns a small community pharmacy. Through this initiative, she helps ensure that her community has access to quality and affordable generic and branded medicines—bridging healthcare and accessibility for those who need it most.

Balancing her professional responsibilities, pharmacy ownership, and family life, Dr. Villones still continues to pursue further studies at a leading university in Manila, proving her commitment to lifelong learning and growth.

Living the Centralino Spirit

Dr. Mikaela Pascual-Villones is more than just a doctor and pharmacist—she is a living example of the Centralino spirit: resilient, compassionate, and committed to making a difference in her community. From excelling in research at MCU to serving as a frontliner and entrepreneur, she continues to inspire fellow Centralinos to strive for excellence while giving back to society.

Her journey reminds us that being a Centralino goes beyond academic achievement—it is about service, leadership, and the pursuit of knowledge that uplifts others.
