Centralino Excellence Goes Regional: Dr. Mortel Named AASMT Vice President

Manila Central University proudly congratulates Dr. Ferdinand A. Mortel, Dean of the College of Medical Technology and a proud Centralino, on his election as Vice President of the ASEAN Association of Schools of Medical Technology (AASMT) on May 23, 2025.

Dr. Mortel’s appointment to this esteemed regional position is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the advancement of medical technology education and practice—not only in the Philippines but across Southeast Asia. As Vice President of AASMT, he will collaborate with leaders from ASEAN-member institutions to champion quality education, professional development, and cross-border academic partnerships in the field of medical technology.

A true product of MCU, Dr. Mortel is an alumnus with an impressive academic journey rooted in the university:

  • BS in Medical Technology, Class of 1994
  • Master of Arts in Clinical Teaching (MACT), Major in Medical Technology, Class of 1999
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration, Class of 2009
