Caloocan City, August 22, 2025 – The Manila Central University (MCU) College of Nursing Batch 1990 joyfully gathered at the Minerva Hall to celebrate their 35th year after graduation through a meaningful Alumni Homecoming. The event was filled with nostalgia, fellowship, and recognition of the lasting impact of MCU alumni in the field of nursing and beyond.
The program opened with an invocation, followed by a heartfelt Welcome Message from Ms. Mary Grace C. Antioquia, Head of the External Affairs Office, who emphasized the enduring connection of alumni to their alma mater.
Prof. Melvin D. Miranda, Dean of the College of Nursing, delivered his message, underscoring the significant contributions of the Batch 1990 graduates to healthcare and their communities. Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco, Jr., University President, also extended his message of gratitude and encouragement, highlighting the important role of MCU alumni in upholding the university’s legacy of excellence and service.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Recognition of the MCU College of Nursing Alumni Chapter, honoring the chapter’s continued support and engagement in various alumni activities. This recognition reflects the chapter’s commitment to strengthening alumni relations and contributing to community development.
The event was further made meaningful by the attendance of the pillars of the College of Nursing, whose wisdom and dedication have shaped generations of Centralinos – beginning with Ms. Priscilla Lanting, BSN Batch 1967 and MAED 1990, Ms. Marisol Mape, MAED 1990, and Dean Lina Salarda, Doctor of Education 2004. Their presence served as a powerful reminder of the College’s legacy of mentorship, leadership, and academic excellence.
The program also featured an Audio-Visual Presentation (MCU AVP) that showcased milestones of the university, as well as a special message from Batch 1990 Representative, Ms. Ulyssa Estanislao-Chua, who reminisced about their student years and expressed gratitude for the lifelong bonds forged at MCU.
In her Closing Message, Dr. Maria Alicia T. Camacho, President of the MCU Alumni Association, encouraged the alumni to sustain their active involvement in the university’s initiatives and to continue serving as partners in MCU’s mission of producing competent, compassionate, and committed professionals.
The homecoming concluded with fellowship and refreshments, giving alumni the chance to reconnect, share stories, and strengthen friendships that have stood the test of time.
